Any National Board Certified Performing Arts Teachers out there?

Question by Teresa: Any National Board Certified Performing Arts Teachers out there?
I am a dance teacher and want to apply to become a National Board Certified teacher, but looked at their categories, and they don’t have any for dance or theater…but I’m sure that there are dance or theater teachers out there that have looked into this? Does anyone know what category I could apply under?
My question is posed to other teachers who have a National Board Certification, or are currently applying for one. (I doubt other people know enough about National Board Certification to answer the question.)

Hi There,

There is no such thing as a National Board Certified Dance Instructor. There is Certified every thing else and finally dancing is getting the attention it really deserves. It is as or more entertaining as your other show you watch.

I think you should invent it. Be the first and be a millionaire. People would pay big bucks to be oh the team, you get sponsors. This is great potential. Think of all the fun you would have setting up the trade shows at dancing conventions. Go FOR IT.

I don’t want to really tell you this because you may or may not; I would never offend anyone. I am not a church going type. Something thru God made me pick this and write this and tell you this letter is a special letter for you. It was totally crazy how I got here!

Plastic Surgery From A Board Certified Physician

There are many benefits to having Minneapolis plastic surgery done by a board-certified physician. Certification helps to ensure that the doctor has the necessary education and skills for the specialized types of surgery used for cosmetic procedures.

Plastic surgery itself has many benefits. It’s known for its elective uses, but is also essential for those with various disfiguring conditions. Breast augmentation is one of the types of plastic surgery that often does double-duty by correcting defects like uneven breasts and then improving the end result beyond what would otherwise be possible. Of course, many people get breast augmentation done by board-certified physicians simply because they aren’t satisfied with their natural breast size.

There are currently two types of implants typically used for breast augmentation by a plastic surgeon in Minneapolis MN. Silicone implants, which once were suspected of causing health problems, have once again been cleared for use in this procedure. They have the benefit of a more natural feel and can provide a realistic augmentation even to those with little natural breast tissue. Saline implants, on the other hand, are harder and can result in a less-realistic end result. On the other hand, saline implants require a smaller incision since they can be placed in the body while empty and then filled once in position. They’re also more affordable and have never been the subject of health concerns.

Another common type of Minneapolis plastic surgery is the facelift. There are many forms of facelifts, and they are typically done to reduce the appearance of aging. The prime benefit of this is to allow people to look as young as they feel. Combined with other facial surgery, a facelift can do a lot to make a person look up to decades younger than they otherwise would.

A plastic surgeon in Minneapolis MN specializes in what’s called a “mini-facelift.” This type of facelift requires a smaller incision than the traditional type. Often, clinics will put a special name on this version of facelift, but the overall procedure is basically the same. An incision is made along the hairline, but doesn’t extend into the hairy part of the scalp behind the ears. Recovery is often faster with this type of procedure. It is ideal for patients in their 40s and 50s who are beginning to show the signs of aging but don’t have a lot of sagging to reverse.

To complete the picture of facial youth, an eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is often done at the same time as a mini-facelift. This gets rid of droopiness around the eyes and often makes the patient’s eyes appear bigger and more youthful. Since people’s attention is naturally attracted to the eyes of those they meet, ensuring that this area looks young is essential to achieving the desired youthful look.

Other types of plastic surgery include tummy tucks, liposuction, and body lifts. These procedures allow the patient to look much slimmer than they ordinarily would and bring a more-youthful appearance at the same time. A good plastic surgeon in Minneapolis MN will offer these procedures to complete the picture of youth most patients are seeking.

When seeking plastic surgery in Minneapolis or anywhere else, make sure to check the doctor’s portfolio and make sure that he or she is board-certified. A competent and properly trained physician can work wonders for your appearance.

Seek a board certified plastic surgeon Minneapolis MN that offers safe surgery, including procedures for face, breast, and body alterations for Minneapolis plastic surgery.

Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon – Finding A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Article by Rex Emanuel

Would you have your landscaper build your house? I am a Las Vegas plastic surgeon and was doing a procedure the other day at my usual fully accredited outpatient surgical facility, and found it remarkable that an ENT surgeon next door was doing a breast augmentation! What woman in their right mind would have an ENT surgeon do their breast augmentation Las Vegas procedure?

The problem is that it is very confusing for the average person to understand how to find a well-qualified surgeon. Sadly, any doctor can call himself or herself “Board Certified” or a “Plastic or Cosmetic Surgeon”. A frightening number of physicians who call themselves “plastic surgeons” or “cosmetic surgeons” have actually trained in a nonsurgical specialty, and have no formal training in surgery. Many physicians who claim to be “board certified” have not been board certified by the by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). The American Board of Plastic Surgery is the ONLY Board in the field of Plastic and Cosmetic surgery recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Attending a weekend course to learn breast augmentation is not enough to be able to perform safe surgery on a person’s chest, and be able to handle potential intra-operative and post-operative complications. There is no way to fully understand the anatomy of the chest without significant surgical training in the chest! Surgery by untrained physicians can be deadly. I completed 4 years of General Surgery training followed by 2 years of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in order to be qualified to perform breast augmentation surgery! And, I would NEVER decide to do orthopedic surgery like a total knee replacement, for example, after a weekend course because the pay was good! How do people sleep at night?

It is critical that patients do their homework to make sure that their physician is Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is the only board that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the ENTIRE body, including the face, breast, abdomen, and extremities. For me to become certified by the ABPS, I was required to possess a five-year college degree and a four-year degree from an accredited medical school. It was mandatory for me to successfully complete a four-year surgical internship and residency, and complete a two-year accredited residency specifically in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. That is 15 years of training! And that was still not enough! Additionally, I had to practice plastic surgery for at least two years, submit all of my operative cases for review, pass extensive oral and written exams, receive comprehensive outstanding hospital reviews, before I was even considered for Board Certification in Plastic Surgery. Now that I have been Board Certified in Plastic Surgery for over 12 years, I have more recently completed my ten-year recertification, which requires exams, peer and hospital reviews, in addition to a thorough analysis of my operative cases, and in-depth medical education in my field.

If a doctor says he or she is “Board Certified”, it is in your best interest to check and see by which Board. There is no recognized Board of “Cosmetic Surgery” or anything other than the 24 listed specialties on the ABMS website

You should ALWAYS choose a Board Certified physician so that you can rest assured that your doctor has the knowledge, experience, and skills to provide quality healthcare within a given specialty. The Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, health care institutions, hospitals, insurers, physicians and patients use Board Certification by an ABMS Member Board as an essential tool to assess physician credentials within a given medical specialty. In addition, Board Certified physicians keep pace with the latest medical advances, which translates into higher standards and the best quality of care.

One more thing: you need to ask if your doctor has hospital privileges to perform the particular surgery you are interested in. Properly trained and board certified plastic surgeons must have hospital privileges at accredited hospitals. You should ask about your plastic surgeon’s credentials and hospital privileges BEFORE undergoing any treatment or surgery. It takes 2 minutes to check online for yourself. Hospitals grant doctors privileges to do procedures that fit under their training guidelines. No hospital would grant an ENT surgeon hospital privileges to perform breast augmentation!

Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon – Dr. Hayley Brown went to medical school to pursue her life-long goal of becoming a plastic surgeon. When asked frequently by patients, “Why did you become a plastic surgeon?” She replies, “I have always been visually oriented, having a visual and perceptual appreciation for beauty in the human figure, understanding harmonious proportions, balance, and seeing potential. I have always been extremely creative, possessing manual dexterity, understanding the human form, desired body and facial proportions, while appreciating and preserving individuality and naturalness.
